Why does a naturally aspirated, pushrod V8, mated to a manual transmission in an FR-coupe layout still represent the ultimate purist car configuration?

>sports car
I mean let's be honest, the gm corvette is not a real sports car.
It's a lifestyle car with sporty styling, and most people just call them hairdressers cars.

Actually no, it's not a sports car. It's another trim level of another gm lifestyle car.
It does look sporty, but is for trips to the salon, really.

I'm not defending that retard but IMO the term "sports car" has been stretched too thin.
Everywhere except america "sports car" carried the implication that the car was high-tech, bringing the lastest motorsport technologies to the road. It's only in america where the "sports car" eg: the corvette is a rejection of the latest motorsport tech. IMO the american sports car and the rest of the world should have used 2 different terms.

Low end torque is how corvettes racing team was so successful. They were never the most powerful on the grid or the fastest in qualifying against other manufacturer backed teams. They’d win by keeping the car at a low rpm because they made a lot of torque down there and this gave them the best fuel economy out of anyone on the grid, including the eco boost ford gt.

Ok so using that logic all racing cars should be turbo diesel. Why don't you sell your motorsport knowledge to formula 1. I'm tired of hearing this pushrod cope.

You are on the right track, but it's even simpler than that.
The clue is in the name, a sports car is designed and built purely for sports use, and nothing else.
Therefore, the gm corvette is actually far from being a real sports car.

the volume they gain from not having massive heads leads to greater displacement and thus torque, there’s nothing inherent to either design that would grant more or less torque.

The real question is, why has this been the standard for enthusiast cars for over 70 years and yet now, throughout the entire world, the whole planet, there is only one (1) car made by 1 (one) manufacturer that still puts a manual V8 in a coupe

You are incorrect.
These cars are not built purely for sports use, therefore, they are not sports cars.
They are made purely for road use, in the gm corvettes case, for driving to the salon.

Look up what the etymology of 'sport', 'sporting', or 'sporting use' actually is, since you have obviously been labouring under a mistaken presumption every day of your life up to now. You should stop being wrong and use words correctly instead. It is better to be right rather than wrong. It is good to speak truth and bad to speak falsity.
A car for fun is a car for sport. High performance roadgoing cars bought by amateur enthusiasts for fun are sports cars.
