Almost every time someone I know has traded in their 10+ year old car for a brand new one post 2018 or so, one of the first things they say is how they keep ending up doing 20-30 over on the freeway without even realizing it because of how quiet and smooth it is

This is the main problem. Of course safety ratings are up when 90% of the population are driving fucking main battle tanks everyday. But that makes it way more dangerous for pedestrians or anyone driving a normal car

Every time I go driving I spot 3-4 people swerving out of their lane while staring down that their steering wheel aka phone. Internet on phones was a mistake.
