>cars keep getting safer and are as safe as they have never been before in history
>traffic deaths are increasing hard
Huh.
Really makes you think.

A lot of things relating to safety end up like that because people get more reckless. It's like how football players keep getting concussions despite their gear being safer

Speed limits getting lower is because the cars are more roadworthy than ever in history while the roads are also less car worthy than they have been since before ww2.

Because modern cars are wildly obese overpowered hot rods that are designed to allow the "driver" to ignore the road and surrounding traffic as much as possible, which ties in nicely with distracted driving and doomscrolling behind the wheel being essentially acceptable. The average retard no longer has to get in trouble with a fully manual shitbox that needs double digits to 60, instead they're equipped with abominations to road safety that peel out faster than a fucking Diablo and allow them to "safely" focus on brainrot videos as the car will keep distance and steer for them and attempt to automatically avoid danger. Also the "you just almost died there retard" warning beep isn't a cause for concern, it's just proof that the system is working.

That's because every car in an European old city now is gridlocked every day for traffic deaths to happen. There are more cars in European cities than you think, and the streets can't handle the volume.
the gov't should just ban cars and improve public transport. leave the roads alone for couriers and people for whom the roads are their workplace.
office "workers" can work from home also which reduces congestion and less cars on the road means less collisions.

This but instead of banning cars they should raise the requirements to get a license. Standards are way too low because you need a car to participate in society to any meaningful degree (in the United States)

the only cars that should be available to non enthusiasts are the honda crx and an s10. These are both the absolute peak of everyday cars and would serve the absolute majority of people perfectly fine
