It doesn't matter when you meant, you're wrong in either case.
1. The MSRP of the 1985 300ZX was $9,000 - $10,000. $11,000 if you were too impatient to wait for dealer specials and insisted on the top packaged "GLL" and turbocharger. When it was new, it was considered the affordable, working man's sports car. It was one of the three things Nissan was aiming hard for with the Z31 and the 280ZX before it.
2. In 2005 - 2015, a Z could be a first car for a young kid in high school or fresh out of high school working their part time McJob. It was RWD, torquey, could oversteer at almost any RPM, and it had T Tops. Girls love T Tops. "Can I take my top off?" was the normal on a sunny day.
-Just don't say "yes" while the car is in motion. I was doing 45 and coming up to a stop when I said "yes" thinking she was going to wait for the stop. She didn't. The moment she pulled the lever, it flew out behind us, it hit the pavement and spun like a wheel, bouncing twice on its edges before exploding like the T-1000 at the end of Terminator 2.
