I live in Australia, it's hot, humid, and lots of slopes (the terrain, not Asians, though there's too many of those, roo5) and little sun cover from a scorching sun.
Even riding a bicycle or motorcycle drenches you in sweat. It's ok for a leisurely motive, but sucks for productive causes

Exactly. Wish I started earlier
I have a 2003 evo. I love it. However, it is such a pleasure to hop into a brand new, smooth and safe SUV when you just need to get from point a to b when you're tired or in traffic.
At the moment, the evo is an excellent "second" family car. I do get the itch for something more practical, though.
However, I'd like to keep the car, as surely it'll be a novel classics before long. It's also relatively easy to work on and upgrade
That said - I am part of the shrinking middle class, and keeping a capital and space intensive asset parked up is a folly for the rich.
I have to pay over $1000 a year to keep it road, and another $1500 to have decent insurance coverage which is necessary with all the jeets around
In another 8 years it can go on historic plates, which should reduce the cost.
Unfortunately, it's getting very expensive to own a double garage...
