The first carmaker to produce an actually new car that brings back real pushable physical buttons and real knobs for most common functions while retaining a screen JUST for looking at the map will be hailed as visionary.
Any manufacturer willing to invest in real buttons for a new design car will see their sales increase.

My 2021 mazda cx-5 has a good ammount of buttons and knobs. Screen is for maps and music but there is a volume knob and media button.

you literally can't even use it as a touchscreen though, it's recessed, which is retarded, and the interior hasn't been updated - at all, in nearly a decade
mazda is on life support
also I tried to stress NEW DESIGN, multiple times, I get that older cars still have buttons

Every time you post your specific requirements for a vehicle interior you are told Mazda by multiple different anons then start flailing like this.

The 2026 Outback is bringing back physical buttons for climate control and a few other things that were previously touchscreen only.

I find the screen placement is ideal and im used to not touching the screen since my previous didnt have one. I can next track and volume adjust from the steering wheel and there is a nice big volume knob. The joystick screen navigator is fine for what you would do while driving. If i need to find a location or change my playlist i do this on the phone.

What issues? The cx-5 is one of the better small suvs, i dont really know about the other models.

my steering wheel allows me to mute or up or down the volume, or change track back and forth, but i cant hold down the change track button and get it to fast forward through a song which is really annoying

its still not button sloppy enough, and its like a 10 year old design, they have not made an actual new car with a usable good screen + enough buttons for everything
the new mazda suv has issues with transmission and ride

Nta but Mazda is shit.
>windshields so thin that rain sounds like gravel bouncing off the glass.
>sound deadening completely non-existent to the point that road noise at 25 mph sounds like a camry or accord or even a fucking f150 doing 85 mph.
>transmission components sourced from alibaba

Companies are already doing this because the EU’s equivalent to NHTSA won’t give 5 star safety ratings to cars unless certain controls are physical.

How dare you.
The brilliant engineers that built that company are dead, and your picrel is an insult to their names.

My picrel honors them.

>because the EU’s equivalent to NHTSA won’t give 5 star safety ratings to cars unless certain controls are physical.
Meanwhile, they entertain "fully-autonomous" vehicles and EV air taxis, where the "logic" and control is BLACK BOX stuff.

Schizophrenic policy

None of these things are true but if the sound of rain on the windshield is too much for you, you have some kind of mental issue.
