If I needed a car to drive the absolute NUTS off and trade it straight back to the dealership at 99,999 miles for the next one yes I'd consider a kia/hyundai
Like if I was truly gonna put my life in the hands of Uber/Doordash as my entire household income and needed a car to run the fuck through and chuck it over and over.

My Kia Niro is amazing, really comfortable to drive and the cheapest car to own I've ever had. Insurance is cheap, MPG is good, taxes are almost nonexistant due to it being PHEV. My old sedan was just sucking money from money with constant malfunctions whereas this Kia just werks and doesn't complicate my days the slightest.

Yes Kia scored top 10 in a recent car brand reliability survey in the UK, mostly due to the reliability of EV3 and Niro PHEV.

I own a ford Maverick and I wouldn't even look at this thing because the drivetrains will get 25mpg.
Same reason I wouldn't ever look at an EcoBoost maverick. If it's gonna be cheap and thrifty it has to be cheap and thrifty, not a fuckin turbo

Yeah but it's $1k cheaper than a Honda civic and is a similar vehicle just in a different body. Love the plastic that I never touch, put in tuxmats and custom fit vinyl seat covers and a $10 wireless phone charger and suddenly it's more luxurious than anything I've been in. Plastic gets muddy from winter I just wipe that shit and move on, no fabrics to treat or wash or vacuum.

Why would I buy a civic body over a mini truck body?

It's a kia. When it taps the curb to get on the sidewalk, the front suspension will blow out and wipe out the front quarter panel.
That's the reason so many kias have mismatched front quarter panel. It's not some new trend with customization, it's just what happens in a kia. On the bright side, you never have curb rash. On the down side it's because you had to buy a new rim when you replaced it and everything around it.

At this point if it had enough engine to do a burnout I'd probably be fine driving it. Yeah it looks goofy but not in a way that really puts me off like the "YOU RIKE BIG GRIRR" stuff does. If it had a manual or a v8 or whatever then all the better but even just a big enough 6 would do.

I know. I mean what would it even be? They don't make a v8 and I don't think Mitsubishi has in a while either so I'd doubt they could reuse that one if they wanted to. And as you say people would be fussy. Everything is so fucking gay now.
Anonymous No.28707376 [Report]

They do make a v8 for the G90.
I think a diesel v6 would be a good idea though especially for a truck.

Who the fuck is buying this ugly thing? Literally why? If it was cheaper than other utes I could understand, but it isn't, so what is the advantage of this over the other utes in the same price range? Is it being built in South Korea over Thailand that pushes it over?

Kia gives you a much nicer interior than you get from Ford or Mitsubishi.
It's also a new platform - the competitors have you driving a 15 year old vehicle.

lolno, Kia is by every metric the past five years a reliable brand.

>>28701834
Shills just don't want to admit it's not 2005 anymore where a Toyota Corolla lasted 300,000 miles and the computer was on 56kb dial up. Times change, brands change, quality changes.

I used to be so confused and mystified by the KIA badge. I couldn't recognize what the letters were and I never knew wtf kind of cars those were. No idea. And those cars were stalking me. I saw them everywhere. And they were always driving right in front of me, flaunting their weird unintelligible badge right in my face.
I thought it was NIN for Nine Inch Nails or something.
It took me 10 years to figure out those were KIA cars.
I was so angry they made a badge so hard to understand. I hated Kia cars because of this. Now finally, today I'm think I'm finally beginning to heal from all the trauma it brought me over the years
Anonymous No.28708999 [Report] >>28709129
>>28708998
they try way too hard sometimes, but it shows in the cars, they have more to prove than Toyota, so they work harder and the cars have lots of little features you only appreciate when you have one

I hate the logo, too. But, it's just superficial so I don't really care that much.

That retarded NIN badge has been around for like five years though. Before that it was a very clear visible KIA.

>lolno, Kia is by every metric the past five years a reliable brand.
And you won't say six because kias struggle to last 5 years. And every car is reliable until it isn't. Which happens at a startlingly low mileage for a kia.
>>28708999
>so they work harder
No they don't. The only effort kia puts into anything is advertising.
Anonymous No.28709131 [Report]

>And you won't say six because kias struggle to last 5 years
I won't say six because there comes a point where reliability data that old is of no interest to us driving cars in 2025. Lots of Kia cars have proven to be reliable, even in higher mileages. Niro being the most famous example.
