Why do you guys hate it? I think cars will just be like appliances in the future. Having an autonomous vehicle like Tesla will be like having a fridge/dishwasher.

i enjoy driving.
i do not like all the stupidly gay and unnecessary technology/gadgets in teslas.
i'm wary of a car that requires OTA's for basic, basic, things that the jeets fucked up.

make an EV that just leaves me alone and stays out of my way; and behaves like a normal, 2010 era ICE vehicle, and we'll talk.
my car does not need to phone home to the mothership with my driving habits, recharging stops ect
>inb4 you have a cell phone
Yes, and they're now virtually mandatory to have, and it pisses me off to no end all the cunty surveillance and tracking that comes along with it.
ADDING MORE SURVEILLANCE TO OUR LIVES IS NOT A GOOD THING YOU REDDITARD TWATS.

For me it's not the car, it's the drivers
Generally Tesla owners have one of if not the heaviest car on the road and equally do not give a shit about driving. So it's the perfect storm of dangerous vehicle and driver who either isn't paying attention or doesn't know how to drive

Guys Tesla M3 from 2020 are going as low as 25k Euro with about 60k miles. Should I do it? This is exceptionally cheap for long range EV.

sedans are terrifying when you're on the highway and the other vehicles are either:

1.) lifted trucks driven by soccer moms doing their makeup and on their phones
2.) 18 wheel tractor trailers driven by illegal Sikhs with No Name Given CDLs and zero training

if you dont live in weimerica or canada, then yes sedans are very comfy. for the few times you need to purchase large items, just have them delivered, or have a separate old beater truck for that.

also a convertible is way better if you are doing mountain road driving. you also want to be hearing an actual car. do the touring in a JDM or classic british sports car, taking lots of stops at scenic and small hiking spots.

Unless you're an exhibitionist.

Teslas have their place. I can't think of a better town car for errand drives that start and end at home with a 220v plug available. If you’re going to be stuck at stoplights and sitting in traffic, might as well be in a numb pod that drives for you. Having a killer sports car in those situations is like going to a look but no touch strip club. Sure, it's all right there, but you can't use any of it.

I'm in the mountains almost every weekend. An EV would eat into my valuable mountain time. I see people using the chargers at the shopping center. I can pull up to the center, fuel up my vehicle, buy my groceries and drugs for the week and the people that pulled up to the chargers are STILL fucking around on their phones trying to get their car to charge. No fucking thank you. An EV would be more like a cooler that I need to add ice to every couple days or a dishwasher that requires me to start a fire to heat the water.

Where is this? I'll bet you that Tesla superchargers are not that far away from here. Also the latest Tesla Model 3 has WLTP range of 750km which in real life is about 500km. There is no way you drive that far routinely on your weekend day trips. Even if you do, 15 min charging break is hardly a big deal.
Anonymous No.28704263 [Report] >>28704267
>>28704234
That stretch of road is ~250kms long with no cell service or charging stations. You can hit the final stretch only to have to turn around by an avalanche across the road. It's definitely not a place you want to be in when you're "running on fumes", EV or ICE. EV range is half the predicted range in the winter which is cutting it too close for winter travel. This is why most people with EV's still take their ICE vehicle skiing or snowboarding. a EV comparable to my adventure rig is going to take a fuck of a lot longer than 15 minutes to top up. 15 minutes is still 15 minutes that can be spent on drinking a beer around a fire. Seems a bit better than listening to a whining supercharger and jeet music for 45 minutes.

most recent cell phones can text via satellite
you have to have a decently clear view up at the sky and point the phone in the right direction and it takes 30-60 seconds to load and you have to keep it pointed at the satellite to load replies, but it works if you need it
but yeah, must of the hillier parts of america don't have cell phone reception at all
