I am looking for something kinda big and 4 wheel drive, the issue is that any engine above 2000cc has insane taxes.An 1.8 Turbo audi would be way less taxes but a lot more expensive, due to the taxes this one goes for dirt cheap. like 60 percent the price of an equavalent Impreza

They're actually lighter than same-year STis and are basically lifted imprezas. Same drivetrains, too. The XT is basically a WRX, 5-speed and all. Decent parts availability even today, good documentation. Some are pretty clapped-out at this point.

You can get an old X3 with the twin turbo diesel for relatively cheap. 280hp

Turbo foz is good if not a little aged by now, be prepared to have to fix some things if you can't find a babied one. Turbo, awd and light weight is a good combo. A practical wagon too.

Jimny's are actually very very desirable here because their 1300cc engine has very low tax. So they go for like 12k on some cases for low mileage examples. but you will see ones with 300k km and they will be selling for 5-7k

Mine has been great thus far, especially mechanically it's been bombproof and taken to my abuse extremely well. You just can't expect a GLS Mercedes from an offroader made as cheap as possible, it's a workhorse.
