The hood is harder to see over than a Viper's, and I'm average height. Who the fuck likes this shit? It's genuinely dangerous, and not in the fun way.

what year? you get used to it eventually but it doesn't need to be this way. it's an LS engine, they put these things in corvettes. literally these two vehicles have the same engine. explain to me why my truck has to be able to fit 2 of them on top of each other in its engine bay.

only one of those vehicles can tow twice its curb weight, and so its suspension and frame need to be able to take the forces that imparts on the wheels without significant deflection.

ok so then explain to me why a beefier suspension and frame for towing necessitates the hood and bed be cartoonishly tall.

Cars becoming larger and uglier is part of a larger psyop to demoralize. Same with buildings and houses getting more ugly and generic, fat and mid models advertising clothes. It's a concerted effort to deprive humanity of beauty. Beauty has great power, it inspires, it soothes, it instills hope. Take beauty from people and you push them one step closer to demoralization.

Cooling... A 500hp/1000+ft.lb diesel at full power is putting out a fuckload of heat. Even the gassers will cook when you let them eat. You need a lot of frontal area and radiator area to cool that. The rad in that truck is the size of a 42'' TV. Try mounting that in an old truck and see how that works out.

Sounds like a badly designed engine then. The Audi Q7 4L with its 500hp V12 TDI didn't need to be this fuckhuge to cool its engine. And that one got release in 2008.

the size of trucks and their relation to safety is a self eating snake. They're bigger because other vehicles make collisions unsafe due to their size which, in turn, makes the other manufacturers pump up the size of their trucks. have you seen the front crash bars on these things? they have 2 or sometimes 3 reinforcement bars in an attempt to increase crash compatibility with sensibly sized cars and trucks from yesteryear.

I always get a kick from mutts defending retarded looking trucks.
My dad had a Eddie Bauer Ford Explorer in the early 2010s, we towed our mastercrafts, wave runners and RVs no problem and the size was perfect. If you compare a car from today to that, the only explanation is that mutts average size has gone up 500%
Remember, for mutts: bigger=better.

how is anything I said a leftist comment? you're a retard. a leftist would've said they wanted their size reeled in with regulations or stop-sale laws. my position is clear that regulations are to blame for these behemoths. Now it's apparent to me that the MIGA clan buys them to "own the libs" instead of actually working with them judging by how you attached my criticism of large trucks to your political affiliation.

Most truck owners don't actually use the bed. They just like to haul a lot of air to make up for all the air that never reaches their brain.

If pedestrian safety was a concern the hood height would be lower and it would have a sloping shape.

Hood design over modern trugghs is 10% government and 90% men compensating their undersized penises.

honestly if they just put a V8 in the colorado it wouldn't even be a big deal. these are a great size, it's just crazy that you can only get them with a 4 cylinder engine.

>these are a great size
Like fuck they are. They're the same size as my 20 year old 3/4 ton and marginally smaller than a modern half ton yet they have zero interior room. If you can't fit a 1/2 ton in your garage squeezing in a """midsize""" truck is going to get old pretty fucking quick so you might as well go for the bigger truck.

i like the size of my 2017 silverado so i think the current gen colorado zr2 with a V8 would be at the top of my list for a new truck. those don't exist though so i'm just going to keep my current truck around for a while longer and hope chevy gets their head out of their ass sometime soon.

NOBODY has put a V8 in a midsize since Ram did for the Dakota. Toyota almost put the 4.7 in the 2nd gen Tacoma but was worried about eating Tundra sales even though the Tacoma dominated the midsize segment.
The twins happen to have the same shit-ass 4-pot TT that they couldn't sell in the base Silverado, what makes you think they want to do anything else, especially since that platform comes with a TT4 diesel abroad?

>>28706777
All of the current midsizes are pigfat. It's absolutely ridiculous, especially when people used to want them for being small. It's made me consider an older V8 single cab short bed half-ton since nothing is small anymore.
Anonymous No.28706944 [Report]
>>28706822
If you're okay with the size of a Silverado then you might as well just get the Silverado ZR2. GM will never make a performance midsize because people don't buy them. Nobody buys the Ranger Raptor or the Bronco Raptor. Also what's the point of the off road trim midsizes when you're cucked to tiny 33'' tires?
