Electric F-150 getting canceled
If only someone had warned them that this was a retarded idea

>In October, Ford sold just 1,500 Lightnings nationwide — the fewest of any F-Series model — compared with 66,000 gas-powered trucks. The company has lost around $13 billion on electric vehicles since 2023.

How the hell do you kill $10,000,000,000 developing a EV truck?

Fake news.
Ford is stopping lighting production because they are short on aluminum.
So they are prioritizing gas F150s

Cover story to justify stopping the cash burn without pissing off the ecocultists.

Should've licensed Mitsubishi's dual-motor hybrid design and beefed it up for payload/towing purposes.

what a fucking boondoggle EVs turned out to be.

No, it's because they are selling like shit AND Ford is short on aluminum. So they are prioritizing higher-profit vehicles which actually move off dealer lots.

I work by some chargers and I laugh when I see shit like an EV towed to the charger then plugged in by people wandering the parking lot for an hour buying food at our business etc.

There's no way charging in winter at a Canadian Tire parking lot paying $1 per minute to quick charge is luxurious. I see retards in F150 Lightning charging while I deliver non-stop in my Maverick not needing to charge jack squat

if you have a brain the real takeaway is manufactures that don't own their entire production line cannot compete with those that do
if you can't produce a battery pack you will always be at an extreme disadvantage compared to those that can

also, a salty dealer from nj crying about sales isn't exactly a fantastic source on fords plans for production in 2027

That wasn't the source, that was just some random fluff to pad the article out.

Very much this. Carmakers who have to buy their batteries wholesale from 3rd parties have a massive handicap compared to those who can either build their own, or at least license their tech to battery producers.

Worst product pitch you could possibly make.
