percentage-wise yes. 1.4 million software updates looks significant to the general public but in reality it's a simple software update at the dealer or authorized repair shop. The ones of note are the safety defects and driving defects. Loose seat bolts are major IMO, especially considering their tooling tracks each bolt torque for "critical processes" at the factory. They have also had several recalls for severe engine defects in the 2.7 ecoboost (nano) and 3.5 ecoboost (duratec based). The 10 speed defects are also major. Toyota generally will do these recalls willingly, whereas, Ford has to be sued in a class action before they do anything.
