Need to rent in Europe
What would be sensible? A full EV, or a PHEV? Pic-related are what I’m most likely gonna get from the rental agency.

unless you already know you will be able to recharge overnight every night, I would not rely on full ev here
Europe EV infrastructure is just a diverse as the US as a whole some places have almost zero charger

I’m visiting Italy, Switzerland, and France, basically around the Alps region. Unless if I can get a Tesla, I’m leaning more towards the phev since the Swiss charging network seems weak compared to France’s and Italy’s.

>Italy

Go gas or diesel bro. Was just there in August and ICE vehicles are the vast majority and even then some of the more rural fuel stations were poorly maintained. I hardly saw any chargers and I am sure those are even less maintained.

width is a single dimension. it has no area. it's not squared.

Can’t go diesel, they’re gonna charge me out the ass if I pick diesel at about $26 per day. I can get it without extra charge if there’s no petrol left, which is highly unlikely.
Guess I’ll stick with the PHEV since charging overnight at hotels is easy.

I would go with a regular gas engine. No hybrid or electric bullshit. The convenience of being able to get gas anywhere without stressing about finding plug in stations in a foreign country is worth it. Whenever I rent in Europe I try to get cars from manufacturers you can’t get in the US like Renault, Peugeot, Seat, Skoda, etc.
