literally everything about it is worse than a regular dealership but the 7 day return policy
but if you want that then carmax has a 30 day return policy and regular dealerships let you + a mechanic test and inspect the car as much as you want (as long as you feign interest) so there's really no point to carvana

99.9 percent of dealerships have online listings on all the major sites already, and all but the scummiest dealers would be happy to sell you the car for the listed online sticker price (which is almost always lower than Carvana's

They are good if you are looking to sell a car. Offered me 3k more than the stealership. I lied about the condition of the car too. I said it was "excellent" despite being full of scratches and chips and they still took it lmao

I was curious what they would give me for my car, I was offered $6500 for a c5 corvette. sold it for $14500 a week later.

yeah well I traded my car in for $17k and now they're having trouble selling it for $15k
tbf, their initial offer was $10k but almost anything is negotiable at a dealership that isn't called carvana

i went with them as the nearest car i wanted was on the other side of the country, it was fine.

Best place for NPCs, trannies and wrenchlets to pay top dollar for a clapped out rental (auto only) in the shape of an egg, carmax is good too.

They will overpay for your shitbox and sell it at 10+% APR to some sucker.

goyim-tier financing for overvalued cars. the return policy is nice in theory, but they're going to make sure any vehicle with serious issues doesn't cause you any problems for a month or so, so the 7 day return is useless. i would say don't buy from them period, but ABSOLUTELY do not buy a vehicle with a CVT from them, or anything with over 100k miles, their cars are almost always vehicles that people beat the shit out of, didn't do any maintenence on, etc.

My friend bought a car from Carvana. I was hanging out with him at a coffee shop and it literally took all of 15 minutes to make the purchase.
HOWEVER, when he took it to a mechanic they found a lower control arm was totally jacked up. He bought the extra insurance plan and they fixed it for free.

Overall, it seems like it's an ok option for a person who is willing to pay for convenience. But I would probably go to CarMax instead if I was looking for an alternative to a regular dealership.

>it literally took all of 15 minutes to make the purchase
why do dealerships take an entire afternoon then?

The sales process dictates that they waste a lot of your time because the longer it drags out the more likely a person is to accept a shitty deal.

It's a gamble.
If things go smoothly then it's worth it.

Sometimes shit gets hung up and you wait months for your car.
Sometimes there's shit wrong with it despite the bajillion point inspection and comprehensive pictures.

If there's something wrong with it and you have to/want to return it. You lost your delivery fee.

This. I used to work in dealer/insurance software and we worked on stuff that would return everything need to approve & quote a loan to the sales guys instantly (as soon as you entered the customer's info & the VIN). The dealerships specifically asked us to drag it out to 45mins ~ 1hr so their "finance" guys could still spend time upselling the customer on useless bullshit.
