The pic I posted is actually out of date because mine is currently in the process of getting unfucked. Wanted to fix some speed holes in the floorpan but it turned out a third of the car is rotten and the back quarter panels are half bondo. However I'm retarded and bad financial decisions are my hobby so instead of junking it I instead went for actually fixing the car. I really like the car and wish something like an LS4 or a Yamaha V8 could be swapped in these cars to have at least some form of a V8 in it.

"cheaper" ha... hahahha. Yeah they're not expensive to acquire but for one they're old so everything breaks naturally of age, and the other is that the well known Mazda rust problems will kick you. Way before the engine will. Don't get fooled by the low cost of purchase, running it is the expensive part. I haven't driven one myself but rumour has it an NC Miata handles the same, so I would go for one of those for a cheap car with the same qualities.

Now that the bad is out of the way, I fucking love this car and I'll keep it until it explodes (and probably then put a new engine in it). It's comfortable, it's responsive, it's fun. It's not fast in a straight line and gets mogged by everything but I just don't care it's a great little sports car. And yes, the rear seats are useable and yes, the trunk is actually useable as well.

Mine's bone stock and it'll stay that way, laws about mods are insain so better just keep it legal so I can keep it for long. If you want some recommendations on what to look for you really just want stock and a mid range mileage so you know the car has actually run and not just sat still and had liquids eat shit up and gaskets and seals go bad and all the other fun stuff that happens to a car that barely gets driven for 20 years. Unless you just want a cheap project car where you can have fun rebuilding the engine and playing with it in which case rust is the only thing you should really care about
