>>2801749>Is it? Really?Yes, but not because of some violent takeover. You have corpos like Bayer (which acquired Monsanto) which seek to make any seeds you buy nonviable, as in the plants will grow fruit, but won't reproduce. There are a few different examples of corpos pushing the monopolization of our food, and history can speak on the willingness of the ruling class to engineer food scarcity. It won't be like the Soviet union here in the states, where all food is stolen from the farmers (at least I don't think), however food will keep increasing in price to the point where buying groceries will become a significant strain on your budget, and buying meats may become untenable for the majority. Then you will also have engineered scarcity with manufactured crises which call for culling tons of livestock and the destruction of crops. The only way to combat this will be good production yourself, which won't be illegal, but alas, you must buy your seeds from them year after year. Livestock may be the only source of food they can't readily fuck with due to the nature of live birth being the means of reproduction, but they can always mandate a cull if you are within radius of another diseased animal (which they can create the conditions with ease).
All of that said, uprooting your life isn't necessary at the moment, but starting a garden or even just a few planters is never a bad idea
