>>2822829It's kinda amazing that WV is very limited in flat land except in the valleys of the far-eastern panhandle and yet most of the locals don't really hike at all - they are more likely to dirt bike or ATV if at all - and the trails are rarely set up to accommodate fat people regardless. There's a few trails with built in steps at Kumbrabow, Holly River, Beartown and Cranberry boardwalks, but for the most part they spent way way more effort logging and building criss-crossing railroads throughout the state through every holler than to try to maintain access through those hollers today.
Somehow I noticed when I was in PA the people there seemed the fattest and most out of shape, like Northern PA, whereas in KY/TN people seemed a bit more trim.
