I truly hope we, at some point, get a CCC revival. So many parks are literally coasting on barely-revised 1930's CCC stone facilities and paths. It would be a dream to get the trails in even state and national forests restored to cleared, passable, marked condition. I think that would have to come with both a commitment to work hard, and also to relax some regulations on using power tools in sensitive areas. There's so many places where there used to be more developed recreational access and facilities and things were abandoned 50-100 years ago or more that could easily be restored and it's not THAT expensive.

Anyone who's been to Crater Lake has seen the absurdity.
A tall resort hotel on the ridge. A motorboat leaking oil and other nondegradable contaminants into a lake with no outlet. Foreign fish were introduced a hundred years ago or something because locals wanted to fish the previously-much-cleaner lake instead of simply appreciate its beauty.
The NPS is mismanaging parks and especially forested areas to a comical degree, selling out almost as much as the logging/mining corporations would. I want my great-grandkids to be able to explore the same natural beauties that I did, but I worry how much of them will be unrecognizable. Another issue is immigrant populations rarely see American nature as worthy of preserving, the biggest two reasons being they don't see America as their home but just a workplace for eight months a year, and simply being so consumed with city life and industrialized society that they've never experienced the beauty of nature and don't see the appeal any more than they'd see the appeal of never cutting the grass in your backyard while letting a family of raccoons nest in your basement.
