I'm living on foot in the Colorado Rockies, and so far haven't walked farther than 6.5 miles from my apartment. The valley is wide-open and not conducive to exploration on foot, but there's still some decent climbs and scenery within reach. I'd like to push myself a little farther on future weekends.

This valley is the easyest way to West Carpatians biggest natural park and highest mountain in the area.
In the summer, during wekends is a highway of hikers. Every 10 minutes you meet a new group of people. And not a single bear attack in last 50-100 years on humans, due to their wilderness they avoid humans. Even if the Carpatians has among biggest density in the world, in this region they avoid humans. Unlike those from South Carpatians. Those are as the population from south, they eat humans every then and now.
