No, weed (and everything else you know of for that matter) is mostly grown using clones. Seeds are mostly unreliable unless you do some shenanigans to make a plant fertilize itself. Seeds are a combination of two parents which is no good for commercial grows who need specific phenotypes to be passed on consistently. They create mother plants and cut clones of these mothers which will eventually grow too old, die, and be replaced by one of the clones.
every apple you see at the market of the same variety comes from a tree that was cloned, otherwise the resulting apples would eventually become too far from the original phenotypes sought out. People want all of the apples to taste the exact same, pink lady from this tree has to taste like pink lady from that tree and they have to taste the same as they do next year as they do last year. This is all done by cloning.
What anon is talking about would essentially place a bunch of pollen producing males into the wild, which would then pollinate the good weed and basically ruin it with seeds
