They found who hung the flag and fired “them.” The flag was a big news story to outdoor enthusiasts, as it took place in one of the most iconic national park on the planet. It violates both laws pertaining to the outdoors (protesting inside of national parks) as well as LNT principles. It also involves a well known outdoor internet celebrity: Pattie Gonia.
