realistically speaking if i were to go innawoods and
>distill my own alcohol
>grow my own tobacco
>smith my own firearms
while living off the grid for the rest of my life how angry would these guys get? i want to live like a settler but there's no free land left.

>got a loicense to kill that animal to eat it?
>got a loicense to barter with pelts and goods?
>got a loicense to grow these crops?
>got a loicense to build this shack?
>got a loicense to manufacture this flintlock?
>got a loicense to operate this still?
>got a loicense to roll these cheroots?
land of the free my ass.

>distill my own alcohol
depends on how much you're stilling
>grow my own tobacco
not regulated
>smith my own firearms
depends on the state

if you really have to ask, then you're not gonna make it

you're not going to distill drank, grow smoke, or mill guns anyway, so you have nothing to worry about

I've been brewing for a while. I'm 1/3 of the way there. I could buy a flintlock kit and tobacco seeds. it's not that hard, anon.

HAHAHAHAHA
"primitive weapons" aren't guns, retard (unless you're in like 2 shithole states i think?)
and again, tobacco isn't regulated either, only if you're trying to sell on a commercial scale

all I'm worried about is how I'm going to keep my electric car charged. do you think solar would work long term?

the car comment was a meme, but I am serious about the rest of the post. how to acquire free land for settlers and homesteaders without getting on the wrong side of the law.

You would have to go back in time to when that was on the right side of the law, there is no more free land. Realistically speaking of course.

The homestead act required that you had to produce something from the land beyond self subsistence, something part of general commerce and industry. People that didnt do that lost their claims. It was always about bringing resources into the economy and connecting land and people in society not about anyone escaping it.

i want to learn to do everything for myself and have learned a lot already. i am not a parasite. i contribute often and more than i should. i'm just asking if i should be concerned about government fucking my shit up once i'm innawoods. if i'm homeless in the city nobody cares. if i'm homeless innawoods and thriving that is not allowed.

>guided
nevermind. i'll figure it out myself. i thought on /out/ people would actually be outdoorsmen and could share expertise or advice. maybe the lesson is to shut up and figure it out yourself. then tell no one.

Unfortunately that's the history. The US, even it's founding documents (bill of rights, landed gentry definition of voter eligibility), is a spinoff of an empire. Freedom is what you get when you're far enough away to not be worth the trouble. As to lolbertism... it is direction to rebirth the east india trading company.

Technially isn’t electrical car more independant than a fuel one? You can produce your own electricity. Good luck producing your own fuel unless you go with an ethanol car.

if the sun goes out we're all dead. electricity is at least viable as long as humans are around. not for everything, but for small scale simple transport vehicles, certainly.

>calls it “brewing”
No one calls it that. Brewing is the process of making beer.

that's not really true, and there were many homestead acts. many of them were to displace natives more than for economic purposes. some of them only required that you resided on the land for 5 years. tribute to the state wasn't required beyond the initial purchase fee.

you can easily produce your own fuel and energy for an ICE from many sources, from waste cooking oil to wood gas, with nothing more than a couple metal drums and some piping. it may not be as efficient or 'clean' as gasoline, but it works. it's not so easy to make a solar panel, though turbines could be tackled I guess.

You do realize that the government's sole purpose and function is to steal from people, right?

>i want to live like a settler
Settlers trained their entire lives to develop the skills needed to survive. Settlers had a society helping them survive. Despite all this, settlers led miserable lives and died of hunger and disease.

Name one job the governemnt does that isn't stealing from others.

Take a second, if you will, and look at the word "government." "Governing" is their primary job. As in regulating, as in stealing. It's in the name. If you don't pay taxes, they put you in jail. They're no differant than gangs, trolls, living underneath bridges waiting to take a part from every traveler who crosses.

I doubt disease was more common among settlers than in urban areas. I also doubt famines and starvation were more common. The reason people became settlers is because the living conditions were preferable

it's just another generic "how I runaway to da woodz!!!" thread, normally the maladaptive daydreamer image would have been posted by now but apparently our "redit" jannies think "You will never minecraft in real life" sounds too close to another "you will never..." truth that infuriates them.
