Nah you're meant to get into godawful boring photography you dont enjoy (like building corners and "street") and only a (((nepotism beneficiary))) could succeed doing because it's safe and appropriate to post a constant content stream of it to the internet

Either that or you spend $3000 on m43 gear to post a bunch of bird pics no one cares about because they're at least good for content streams

/p/ made me momentarily quit photography because of how soulless taking photos to post here feels.

now i only take photos for myself and have almost nothing that can go on /p/. maybe i should start taking a bunch of random bullshit pics of my dog? even the landscapes, i've already shown my gf, my mom, my sister, my brother, and both my best friends, in group texts. i cant post shit here.

i could if i did photowalks i fucking hate and took a bunch of shitty pictures of retirees neglected houses but holy fucking shit does doing anything in life to be a "good poster" on an anonymous furry porn site suck the joy out of everything. no wonder everyone just posts their dog instead of the 3 guys with 0 friends.

try having a girlfriend who isnt a hipster art ho, who still likes photography. i need full frame bro. because she really cares about her eyebrow definition when shot with very dim window light. i just want a pocketable aps-c, but she literally demands bokeh, and has a problem with me having more than one camera because "durr you're the only income right now"

i'm going to have to just start taking pictures of other peoples cats or something i have nothing

>try having a girlfriend
Tried that, they made life miserable. Perpetual shoppers, demands and expectations of everyone else, bc everything and everyone in the world is an object for them to judge as worthy of their acquisition. Total psychopathy. No thanks anon, all yours, more for you to live with โ€ฆfor the rest of your life.

I've had both. The only pros are that the D3100 does very basic 1080 video if you need it.

It only does 12bit raw though. I traded it for a New Belgium Brewery Fat Tire bike. The bike went up in value, while the camera is nearly worthless now.

Why would you not just get a 5d mark ii if you want a cheap camera? Its full frame and it can do raw video too. There's a billion of them and they're unbelievably cheap.

It is fascinating just how much use you can get out of a decade old aps-c costing next to nothing. In my region the market is saturated with them to the point that the local classifieds have many models listed for half the going rate on ebay. I have acquired a stack of them just because I wanted lenses and other gear they came bundled with. They may not be "cool", but with the right knowledge about their limitations they can still take excellent photos. Cheapskates are spoiled when it comes to options these days. I don't get why the zoomers who want that flash look don't touch them still, maybe they are intimidating.

Its because tech shmech, if you don't want to carry a camera with you, it's only good as a paperweight. Big DSLR blobs just aren't fashionable. The companies designed them with market stratification in mind and made them ugly on purpose to make it visually obvious they were exclusive to professionals and outdoorsmen.
