i tried editing this photo i took to make it look similar to tarkovsky's cinematography/some of the scenes seen in stalker (1979). plz lmk how u think i could improve it to make it look better

this is not bad, but in my memory of watching the movie restored in theater, the highlights weren't as crushed (though they were slightly), and it was overall a bit brighter
Contrast is pretty good; I don't know if I'd bother by adding sunflares or negative effects, the poor man suffered enough to make his movie, lets try to copy the intended parts and get in his head (Georgy Rerberg's head actually, he's responsible for a lot and I mean a lot lot)

Yours looks more like a Stalker cliché, which leans a bit towards the video game vibes rather than the movie's
