I want one but I have no idea where to start. There are shittons of rolleiflex models that all look the same with a price range of 200โ‚ฌ to 2000โ‚ฌ

I don't even dare to shoot from the hip with my tiny shameful 3.5 'cord when there are 2.8 planar chads out there.

There's a Rollei for every budget.

$200-$400: 3.5A, 3.5B (K4A, K4B)
$400-$1000: 2.8C, 2.8D, 2.8E, 3.5C, 3.5D, 3.5E
$1000-$1500: 2.8F, 3.5F
$1500+: Whiteface, aurum, jahre editions

I wouldn't recommend the Rolleiflex T's as the film transport system uses nylon, just get a model that has a clean taking lens with accurate shutter speeds. The top of the plate where the selenium cells normally sit should say the serial number with the model name as a suffix, so don't get fleeced.

Disparaging the Rolleiflex as a "hipster meme" while shilling a camera that's associated with the most pretentious, self-inflated, trust fund babies who watched a video by
Willem Verbeeck once is not something I expected to hear

NTA but do you have any reason for using a TLR over an SLR? Or are you just shilling because its the thing that you have? Also post pics please.

Thought I rattled off everything in the original post but I'll be kind with you, I just prefer how light and quiet a TLR is compared to any SLR. Though it's more of a rich man's plaything that's fun to use while takinggreatpictures

I wish there was an easy way to do filters and also correct parallax for closeups. I really love using my TLR otherwise, just gotta meet it where it's at.

My mamiya c330, which is on the heavier side of TLRs, is half the weight of my RB67. Even so, I can manage 1/15s shots with the c330 where I put the RB67 at 1/30s even with the heavier weight. I like using the TLR when I don't think I'll be setting a tripod up often.

C330s have a focal length selector that cams around a little indicator in the viewfinder to show parallax correction based on the focus distance. It'll show the top of the frame so you can lift the camera to correct it. Only problem is with very close focus, any with tilting the camera would change the distance to the taking lens. Makes it harder to do macro at wider apertures. Definitely an advantage for the RB67 in that regard.

Inappropriately expansive to what it is really. Yashica Mat 124(G) better price, nice contrasty lens, Mamiya C220/C330 - exchangeable lens, built like a tank (4.5 lbs).

Based. I have a 6008af. The only things are that they are quite heavy, you need to get the batteries recelled, and it can be difficult to find a perfect film back for them.

Otherwise they are amazing, incredible lenses and very fun cameras to use. I have one of the planar rolleiflexs as well. It's a totally different vibe.

I've started buying dirty old TLRs with the intention of cleaning them up, servicing them and reselling. I'll probably try using them while I'm at it

>Yashica Mat 124(G) better price, nice contrasty lens
People who say this literally have no idea what a good lense looks like, yashica glass is dogshit. Ditto for Lubitel.
>Mamiya C220/C330
Again, anyone who has used one of these would never recommend it, an absurdly stupid camera to use for anything but the lols.
It's the same argument I made for leicas in the /fgt/.
The Rolleis are in fact the best cameras of their type and if you must shoot a tlr for whatever harebrained reason then that's the one; they are fully depreciated so buy one at whatever dumb price they are, shoot it until reality sets in and you'll probably sell it for the same or more than you paid when you're done. But anyone who actually wants their photos to turn out correctly has been using SLRs since the fucking 1960's, get with the program.

>no, post again, with more effort, for my amusement
The ca, distortion and vignette is plainly visible in thumbnails of yashica photos because it's a cheap, undersized, poorly coated tessar copy.
The Rollei's zeiss planar has been the archetype for every normal slr prime since it came out, up to the present day.

I owned the 124G and I can say forget about it, the camera feels cheap and build/image quality pales in comparison to Rolleicords at the same price point. Prices have inflated ever since Youtubers touted it as a Rolleiflex alternative.

The Mamiya's are bulky and don't really fit any particular niche. Anyone who wanted interchangeable lenses would just go with an SLR, instead of a TLR that forgoes the attributes of being small and light in the first place.

The film choices are limited but could be fun. Personally I'd just roll with a 120 though. A 35mm tlr would be fun though.

well there's like 3 brands that do it and Rollei offer one roll in 127. That's something of a market
