i feel like i'm being trolled. vetements gets away with it because they have some edge at least, but even then just barely
anyways nice first go anon. consider using some motion blur. if editorial fashion is all about curating the aesthetic and world building, then runway is about bringing it to life and seeing how those pieces work in the world- how they catch the light and how they move. besides that, your compositions look good. if anything, i'd like to see the full length shots supplemented by close detail shots

I was being pretty conservative with curves in raw, to the point where curves in shop didn't change in shop with auto. I did lift the black point and raised it about 20-20/30-30.

You should get a cheap flash. These photos could really use it

Built in, and it limits me to 1/200s and has a charge time.
Those dildo looking things those pros had looked cool- but they didn't use them when the actual show was going on. Maybe they didn't want to blind the models. I'm not too familiar with flash.

yeah that's the issue. Pointing a flash at someone never looks good. Usually when you use a speed light (big dildo) You either put a diffuser on it to soften the light or bounce it off a surface before it hits to model. I think flash is worth learning. It can be fun and useful for a few genres

for what its worth, the pros at big time shows don't use flash, see picrel, but if your runway isn't lit like a pro event, i guess you have no choice.

and just from googling it appears that the usual routine is something like, shoot the actual catwalk from the pit with whatever lighting they give you, but high level photographers get to 1:1 or a couple to 1 the models and then they can pose and use flash and the like. if youre interested in doing it again, good to know.
