The camera would be fine to use and it might be all you need, so I wouldn't go down any gear rabbit hole just yet. 1" sensors are good for P&S's and will btfo your phone by virtue of bigger sensor + actual lens with IS and telephoto ability. In comparison to OTHER real cameras, 1" sensors are small and any APS-C camera made in the last 10 years will flog it. Any full-frame camera will flog it twice over and then some.
So when anons are here telling you to sell it and buy something else, there's merit to it IF you can be fucked bringing along a bigger camera and would rather nicer quality photos.

If you're still in the learning phase I wouldn't buy shit just yet, and get a bit more used to photography basics since you've basically been handed a freebie. If photography isn't for you sell it and keep the cash, or go a few months then decide if you'd like a nicer, bigger sensor camera. Modern mirrorless APS-C cameras are easily sub $1000, and you could get something like a used RP or some kind of Snoy full-frame for less than $1000.

Avoid PNS, they're the same size as micro four thirds and the ricoh GR but noticeably worse. Just because a skilled photographer can eventually find a stupid street scene or low contrast landscape that doesnt exhibit the shitty cameras flaws, doesn't mean 99% of photos wont be improved by a massive upgrade like micro four thirds.

actually, since the vast majority of photos aren't art and wouldn't be shot at iso 100 on ff/mf, you only need micro four thirds for digital snapshots and medium/large format film for occasional serious photography. it's way cheaper to just shoot film for when you need absolute quality, plus you get over 150mp out of 6x7. otherwise mft is good enough for evening photos to be recognizable and skies to be kept blue. and the ideal system for scanning film!
