Is there such thing as an affordable, high image quality even in low light, durable for warzones camera for the layman?
I've realised that's all I want

nikon/pentax dslrs for durable and dirt cheap to the point of being disposable

olympus e-m1 and e-m1ii if you want something modern with similar bulletproof build as older nikon and pentax stuff.

modern mirrorless stuff from sony/canon/nikon doesn't have good build quality so you can't really have what you want without compromising on image quality in some way.

in terms of build quality sony is easily the worst brand of all selling new bodies rn.

they are popular because they won the race to deliver a non-cucked mirrorless system over the dinosaur brands, otherwise they're nothing to write home about.

Sony falls apart after 2 to 10 hours of casual use. The dials and buttons pop off, the screens crack or shatter, and the e-mount will rip itself out of the frame and just break randomly. They are cheap chinese made mass produced bottom of the barrel quality cameras sold at insane markup. Did you know it only costs $50 to produce a Sony a7rv in a factory? That's right.

You don't have to buy them.
And unlike Sony's "mature" lens lineup, you don't have 5000 ancient lens models with shit optical designs.

All the Nikon FF Z-mount lenses are good to excellent, and even the cheapo 3rd party shit outperforms some of Sony's ancient, overpriced slop they never update.

Most photojournalists who need to cover serious shit, in the shit, shoot sony (any) or canon (pro models only, crop models and the rp/r8 are purposefully poorly made)

If you're doing it for personal vanity choose any other brand because other brands have more larp cred. Nikon pairs well with a khaki vest if you want to pretend. Leica with a denim jacket. Hasselblad with a tophat and monocle.

Because RF L lenses are absurdly overpriced and RF pro bodies have a lot of reliability issues, so people are still unironically using them. Non-L RF lenses arent even weather sealed nor do they come with lens hoods. Non-pro RF bodies are purposefully poorly made.

You never hear about this shit on /p/ because /p/ is actually a marketing war between a canon shill, a panasonic shill, and a sony shill. All professional jeets making less than $1 per post. None of them are aware of the reality of cameras.

but sony does have #1 in the FF market, mostly because they don't suck as bad as canon, but now that nikon fixed their autofocus there is legitimately an alternative to sony.

Camera flash, bring your own light

You will be turned into pink mist and ground meat in an actual war. Modern war is a propaganda machine, photographers are not in actual danger. Just use your strap and don't drop the camera and you're fine.
If you need added ruggedization you can put the camera in a cage to protect it from bumping into things or add waterproofing.

You can do all of this with a used DSLR for under $100,000 total with custom hardware.

Nope, they're using the A9II or A1. A9II is $4500 MSRP.

>The vast majority of the stills photographers will get a9 Mark IIs. We will get some a7R IVs for the videographers, and a couple for some of our entertainment shooters who do a lot of portraits. But the standard kit will be an a9 Mark II.

Sony camras suck. I was taking pictures at an LA riot last month and my camera broke when a police officer shot it with a live round.
