As a Zoomer, I’m expected to work 10–12 hour days, 6 or 7 days a week, doing soul-killing jobs that barely cover rent — and not even for a decent place. Just a one-bedroom in a half-collapsing building with paper-thin walls, mold in the corners, and a landlord who raises the rent every year because he can.

That’s supposed to be my “reward” for working myself to the bone.
No safety net. No family wealth. No backup plan.

A one room apartment still goes for 6 to 900 a month here in Quebec. My first apartment was 340$ a month, i was making 8$ an hour. Friend of mine like you who I genuinely thought was going to off himself went and hiked on the Appalachian trail and ended up living and working at a hostel and now he's happier than me. There are lots of people out there with land and property that desperately need people just to do the basic upkeep and maybe have some company around in exchange for rent, that's what I'm doing the last 3 years in Oregon and it's great.
