Get a job at a retail phone store like AT&T or Verizon. tree trimmers are respected in a mans world anon. i work in oil and gas and participate in the hiring process for jib positions that start at $103k/yr. tree trimmer on your resume would make you your app go in the people i like pile of apps. also my neighbor had two big ass trees close to his house cut down and they charged $2500 per tree because it was high risk of falling on the house. they showed up and cut them down in a day and left with $5k for 2 people. any work history is better than none.

That’s what I thought too when I started, I was expecting the worst from all the nig freakout videos over the years but in reality most customers are just n-cattle and nobody special worth anxiety inducing. Old minorities and such, just needing some problem solved or device purchase. 99% of the time stuff goes smoothly, once you get the NPC bot scripts nailed down and learn how to do the job. Entry level tree work is just brush hauling and running a leaf blower. Unless you already know how to tie a shit ton of knots, have a CDL, chainsaw operating experience, pesticide applicator's license, plant identification knowledge, etc. you're not just going to walk in and make $40/hr. I entered with no experience and within 2 years became a certified arborist. Getting promoted to sales arborist and making enough to give my family a good life was really not that hard. The stirrups, earmuffs, safety glasses and chainsaw make sense, those are actually useful. Everything else is insane safety bureaucracy overreach. Although I would argue that the gloves, earmuffs and safety glasses are all optional and not necessary to complete the task, I'd probably still wear those if this was something I did every day.

The stirrups were the term I used to reference the saddle apparatus, which is actually referred to as a harness. Why on earth do you need a helmet and a high vis vest when you are up a tree? The only way a limb is going to fall on your head would be if you have zero spatial awareness and manage to cut a limb that's going to fall in a trajectory with your own head, in which case you probably aren't the right material for the job or for using kitchen utensils.
