Honestly i know so many chinese and jeets who do that where the guy works in a different country to their kids and it gives me a lower opinion of them than any amount of stupidity or lack of hygiene. They clearly don't feel love and bonds like humans do. There's no job or pay that would make me miss out on years of my children's lives.

I can accept working late or extra shifts but to not see them for weeks or months at a time routinely is inhumane.

Though I want to speculate: Either the plane lost thrust or the pilot fucked up by stalling on a short take-off (with questionable flap settings), the latter of which is beaten around the bush in the media (out of courtesy to not imply the pilot was incompetent).

Enough have mentioned that both engines failing is quite unlikely, unless it were an electrical failure; plane components are often in redundant configurations, so the question is, whether the electrical systems of both engines are separate as well, or whether they share the same galvancy.

All redudancy might not matter: If the plane is in the air, and you charge the common ground with extreme negative potential, you'd probably still fry all the electronics and the plane would fall from the sky.
