They absolutely do care about optics. Fit topless guys striking poses on top of burning cars are all over the news and the target audience absolutely loves it. Optics is always a matter of know your audience. If your target audience is wannagrill boomers and feelgood normies then the riots are bad optics. If your target audience is mexican ultranationalists and MS-13 types then the riots are god-tier optics. The aesthetic of the riots wasn't meant to win democratic support from random dipshits, it was meant to inspire and encourage violent thugs to take action, and in that respect the optics were top-tier.
