Saw two comments by actual pilots who said the flaps were in the wrong position. The levers for the flaps are right beside the levers for engine thrust, so maybe it was pilot error. If the flaps are in the wrong position, that would lead to what we saw in the video, the plane descending while the nose is up. It would feel to the pilots like a loss of power. And they wouldn't be able to retract the landing gear after takeoff - which was also visible in the video.
The position of the flaps is in the check list for takeoff. But it said in the reports yesterday that the captain was "very experienced", so maybe he just skipped the check list.
Anyway, if they ever find out what caused this, my money is on pilot error.

We need to stop being colorist and saying just because they're brown instead of black that they belong on a higher social caste then blacks. Indians are worse then blacks how many blacks do you know that play with their own shit and smear it all over their bodies? Blacks will smoke crack cocaine and abandon their kids, but they don't fucking eat shit on a monthly basis. Let's be honest.

It's a testament to the integrated automatic systems on modern aircraft, that pajeets are pranging airliners 10 times a day. I think there's a psychological study that said that people who only ever drive the same way to work are more likely to get into accidents, because after a while they think they know the way and stop paying attention.
The same effect could have happened with a pilot who knows the checklist and maybe thinks he doesn't need it.
Anyway, I'm interested in what they will find out eventually what caused this crash.

My former boss is a pilot and he flew me around in his private plane a few times. One time his son was flying with him and so he made sure to follow the check list exactly just to demonstrate to his son good safety measures. He was a real school teacher about it making observations pointing them out to his son. Well I was with him and as he was saying all the things I was listening intently and he said tires check and I looked at the tires and they needed to be aired up a small amount so we aired them up. Safety first. Having a personality type where you just do things by the book even if it seems silly is very important for pilots.

Not him but RAT is the "RAM air turbine", a small propeller that pops out of the belly of the airplane and drives a generator. Usually electric power is generated by the engines, but if no engine is delivering electric power, then this thing pops out just so that the plane has power for all the electronics in the cockpit. It has a distinctive sound that sounds like a small propeller airplane, and that sound can be heard on one of the crash videos.

ive read about beoing engines.. their engines are a bit weird. you cant have the air conditioning on while taking off in hot climates. it draws so much power from the engines cant take off from some airports. you have to switch off the air conditioning on take off. what happens if you do not? plane will fail to get height, panic and crash. India, a hot place, very hot. so, maybe all the pilot had to do to crash is.. not turn off ac. fkn what?? I found that out by reading how those engines work and ac. fuck en hell mate

you lose %50 power if left on at take off. damn. Throw in the risk of engine failure, on a twin that means you lose 50% of your available power, so giving some of that power just to provide air conditioning when you want to be climbing is a bad idea. not only that, it was hot. bet they had them on for so long, that the batteries were dead, had to use engine power and. 50% less power.. and on top of that, engines a way less efficient in hot air. so it was probs 60% under powered if ac was on. they had a gov vip onboard, that probs wanted ac. so yeah. my take

With no flaps it didnt matter how much power they used they were going down. Any fucknut claiming to be a pilot and not calling out the flaps is full of shit.

Where did you read this? Most turbofan and turboprops use bleed air for pressurization and air conditioning. They take away some power from the engines, so bleed air needs to be turned off for max performance take off and go arounds.
The 787 is the notable exception. It's the only commercial airliner currently in service that doesn't use bleed air for cabin pressurization and air conditioning.

I was on Reddit earlier trying to explain that maybe the fault was not with Boeing, the aircraft manufacturer, but the fault was with the Air India company for not spending money to.maintain and repair the aircraft. Also, saw some articles that said that pollution, especially dust particulates, can cause wear and tear on aircrafts jet engines over many years and flights. So the blame can also go to the Indian government from not doing enough to combat pollution. There was even a Reddit thread where a former Air Indian staff employee said that there had always been problems with that particular Boeing aircraft that crashed. The employees told the Air India company about the problems but they were silenced.

Depends. Pollution, which India has plenty of, can wreak havoc on an aircraft after many years and flights. Has the airplane you are going to fly on stopped in India? Because if it did, the crew might want to do a check up on the aircraft.
>>507195068
Nah they got off the ground and were climbing. You either can or cannot fly with no flaps.
>>507195716
Most likely single engine failure and the incorrect engine was shut off. That is far more likely than dual engine failure and it has happened before.
>>507197887
RAT deployment is automatic when the aircraft is in air mode and both engines are shut down. It is excellent evidence. Flaps were enough to get off the ground so they would have been enough to continue flying/climbing. Power was the issue as is clearly visible in the video. Literally everything you said was wrong lol I hope you aren't like this irl.

It still uses power off-take from the compressors to drive the electrical generators. I've not heard anything about needing to switch off for take-off since the generators don't actually use much (only a couple hundred kW) compared to the power you get from the engines. Also while on ground the aircon is powered by the APU.

2. Config warning at takeoff power cannot be missed. Think loud horn and flashing red lights.

It wasnt a sudden loss of lift. Watch the video, it struggled off the ground and was at speed. No flaps the entire runway, very not normal. They didnt use flaps and that is exactly how any aircraft and low speed and no flaps behaves. It has no lift. You can say what you will, no flaps on takeoff is a death sentence. Try it in a flight sim and you will belly flop just past runway too. Give it all the power you like it wont matter.

desu a flapless takeoff is hardly the worst thing as long as you can rotate and get airborne.
The real purpose of flaps for take off is reduced rotation speed so runway length requirements don't become excessive.
Once airborne, the gear gets retracted as soon as positive rate of climb is achieved. After that basically any modern twinjet airliner will accelerate to the flap retract speed very quickly. Then you retract the flaps and continue climbing in the clean configuration because the plane climbs the best when you minimize drag.
0 flaps would not make them crash if they were able to get airborne in the first place. That's why I'm leaning towards a double engine malfunction.

Not true. Even in a little cessna its not a good idea to he going under certain speed without flaps. Here you are saying its no big deal in an airliner. Focus on the air conditioning more, its a more obvious cause than no flaps. I dont think this thread is looking for answers, its looking for excuses.

Just about every general aviation plane will take off just fine with zero flaps. The best rate of climb speed for fixed wing planes usually coincides with the best lift to drag speed, which is around 1.3x the stall speed in clean configuration. There is no risk to stalling if you take off without flaps.
In the case of airliners, they typically will climb at even faster airspeeds than the best lift to drag speed. Because they have much more excess thrust compared to general aviation planes, if you target the best lift to drag speed it becomes way too nose high and it gets really uncomfortable for the passengers and hard for flight attendants.
>herr derr muh flaps
Stupid cunts. The fucking plane GOT OFF THE FUCKING GROUND so obviously it's not a flaps issue. Also, the RAT tells us they lost electrical power. Confirmed by the mayday.
The question is, WHAT catastrophic event caused universal power failure? I'm betting on sabotage. Bomb in the avionics bay. This is confirmed by the panel / door that flew off and is visible on the video

No, no flaps. It had plenty of speed. Here is what a dreamliner with flaps properly deployed for takeoff looks like. Notice its climbing easily while still over runway. Makes all the difference in the world and anyone saying otherwise is a liar. Find an example of dreamliners taking off or landing with no flaps. This crash is the only example i have seen.

Sure, but i've seen 787 pilots basically say its inconceivable they could do it.
They have to go through two check lists integrated in the planes systems before take off to ensure its correctly configured, they would have had to manually over ride them and then once they've done that literally ignore blaring horns telling them they've fucked up, it would have to be 100% malicious it couldnt just be stupidity or carelessness.
Some have said the co-pilot might have retracted flaps instead of raising the gear and i think thats probably more likely.

Spirit of Australia, buddy.
I just watched another video by a plane pilot. He said what we see in the video is
+ the plane takes off just fine
+ no smoke, debris or fire coming out of the engines
+ but then the landing gear wasn't retracted when it should have been and became a drag on the plane
+ the nose went up but the plane descended
+ there was a loss of lift
So he said the flaps would have to have been in the correct positions for take-off or alarms would have gone off in the cockpit. The plane taking off suggests that they were indeed in the correct position. The guy in the video suspects that the captain then told his 1st officer to retract the landing gear, and that the 1st officer instead pulled the lever for the flaps. This would explain all that can be observed in the video, and it would have been a mistake that couldn't have been corrected in the few seconds they had until impact.

The leading theory notes the landing gear was down and the flaps appeared retracted (aligned with the wing) in the footage, which is abnormal for takeoff. Flaps are critical for generating lift at low speeds during takeoff. If retracted prematurely or not extended properly, the aircraft would struggle to climb, especially in hot conditions (near 40ยฐC in Ahmedabad), where air density is lower, requiring higher flap settings and thrust.
The nose-pitched-up attitude in the footage indicates the pilots may have been trying to compensate for poor lift by increasing pitch, which can exacerbate a stall if airspeed is too low.
The plane used the entire runway but only reached 625 feet at a speed of 320 km/h before the signal dropped. This is all consistent with a takeoff configuration error.
In a nutshell, this guy is right

to clarify there are two further sub-theories that branch off from this, either flaps weren't properly extended for takeoff (in the first instance), or they were retracted prematurely by accident, instead of retracting the landing gear.

The pilots would have been using very high takeoff flaps for a 40 degrees heat takeoff on a fully loaded dreamliner (I would assume flaps 15+) but even with flaps 5 it would have been visible, and they're barely even visible in the footage, either way the footage is shit and we have to go off of aircraft behaviour which is consistent with incorrect flaps config

FCOM says this
>โThe slat autogap function is only available in primary mode when the slats are in the middle position and the airspeed is below 240 KIAS. At a high angle of attack, autogap fully extends the slats to increase the wing camber, thus increasing the lift and margin to stallโ
So incorrect configuration at takeoff would not have been rectified by "the Boeing computer" until after the aircraft was airborn, and I wouldn't be surprised if that system automatically deployed the flaps while the plane was falling out of the sky, but it was already too late evidently becaue pilots kept pushing the pitch up higher to compensate

callouts during start procedure are literally
V1 - Rotate - Positive climb - GEAR UP.
the fact that gear was down is a major red flag and shows that the jeets fucked up because there is absolutely no reason not to gear up, even if there were some sort of sudden engine problems after V1 callout (which is extremely unlikely, pilot error is statistically much more probable).

plane cannot take off without deploying flaps. there are major warnings and sirens that will blast in the cockpit as soon as you give power to the engines. the planes almost does it for you.
the most plausible explanation they fucked up after taking off. the landing gear was not retracted. they probably engaged the flap lever instead of the landing gear lever.
that is the most plausible reason so far.

>i've seen 787 pilots basically say its inconceivable they could do it
For a white pilot. There are standards for white pilots that jeets don't have. Remember that jeets are notorious for faking their credentials, and for cheating/scamming to get credentials without actually earning them. Jeets believe it means they're "smart" if they can dupe others. They don't value true intelligence.
>It couldnt just be stupidity or carelessness
LMAO. You severely overestimate the intellect of the jeet, because you think they value intelligence in the same way we do in the West. See my previous comment. Jeets think it's intelligent to scam others. The jeet pilot is "smart" for faking or otherwise cheating his pilot credentials so he can be a pilot. To a white man, this would be ridiculous and self-destructive. But to the jeet, he deserves to be a pilot because he tricked others into thinking he deserves it.

That the pilots could have ignored. I've worked with jeets. They aren't stupid, but they are conceited and will do dumb shit if they think they know better than everyone else. I guarantee the experienced pilot has pulled shit like 0 degree flap takeoffs before and got lucky because the Dreamliner is forgiving.

No one does anything with the engines below 400ft after experiencing a failure. You just focus on getting the gear up, trimming the aircraft and then getting the AP engaged. These blokes didnโt even get the gear up which leads me to believe they were startled by some major failure which drew all their attention. The appearance of the aircraft being in clean config is interesting as well, but that isnโt confirmed yet.

I've been in taxi's and the jeet drivers litrally on the phone to some realitive while driving puts them on hold and is acting as "tech support" while driving a damn cab.
Unsurprisingly he's half assing all tasks involved. Their cultures sense of superiority causes the arrogance that they don't need to do things like proper maintaince or focus on a task. >What could have caused Air India plane to crash in 30 seconds?
ANSWER: First the retarded Indian pilots did NOT use the full length of the runway, as we can see the plane take off at the very end of the safety strip..causing the clear dust cloud. But worse than that...upon takeoff the Captain called out to "gear up", and instead of raising the landing gear, the First Officer raised the flaps.
Being that it was 110F, and the airport is about 3000 in elevation..the air was very thin. Being that the plane was fully loaded down with people, things, and fuel....losing the flaps at THIS CRITICAL POINT meant that even at full throttle panic, that plane would flutter gentle to the ground just as we see on the video. Because the Captain probably had no idea that the First Officer failed to raise the gear (which would significantly reduce drag) and instead took away the critically important lift inducing flaps needed to get that fat beast to climb through that hot & thin air.
Pilot error all the way.

Proximity to the ground creates additional lift during takeoff. Literally once you are in the air, upward pressure decreases which is why you need speed to maintain lift. You can absolutely get off the ground and then stall out once in the air.

How is the RAT going to provide immediate power upon deployment when they aircraft is stalled? RATs require airspeed to generate power and it isnt an immediate switch off. Also, the RAT discussion is beyond stupid because the aircraft and hydraulics can run on battery for about an hour. The RAT wouldn't make a fuck's bit of difference even if it were deployed and functional. Regardless, the pilots had power (battery at least) which means they also had control of flaps and landing gear and it also means it was most likely pilot error.

it is some unfathomable fuckup. but i cannot think of any other reasons for this.
the plane could not take off without flaps. the warnings will cause a ruckus.
there are 2 safety checks beforehand which you have to comply with and the plane almost initiates the flaps for you. this is a new airframe and has all the bells and whistles.
they did not retract the landing gear. and retracted the flaps instead of the wheels. it is still major fuckup.

This is the definitive answer, it was a lack of lift caused by a lack of thrust from the jet engines that had lost power due to an electrical fault . the Cause of the electrical fault is unknown but sources close to this investigation suggest that some minor modifications might have been mage to the boeing wiring during the planes 10 year ownership.

Holy fuck you are stupid. Electrical loss won't cause engine failure, especially with battery backups and this presumes the fuel pumps are electric, because if the pumps were mechanical they would continue to run evwn without power. Once engines are up to speed, they will continue to run based on pressure created by the turbines. They just need more fuel which they absolutely would have had.

787 has autogap feature. slats deploy automatically without any input by the pilot in low speed and high aoa.
so even if the pilot was a moron slats should have been deployed by themselves.
and there are major, i mean major warnings and sirens blowing in the cockpit if you attempt to take off without any flaps. i cannot believe that happened. that is beyond a fuckup.

I blame jeets because the actual visual evidence demonstrates an incorrect flap configuration for take off. They had engine power, clearly because they had speed. They didn't lose electrical power because of battery back ups. The RAT, even if deployed is insignificant. It was pilot error. All actual evidence indicates this.

You don't know jack shit, Mehmet. You have never been on a plane. If you think about your sandnigger theory for just a fucking second you would realize how retarded it is. You're saying that a plane cannot climb if it has its landing gear up. So how are they able to take off in the first place? And how do you explain planes aborting landings and going back up, all while having the gear down?

Do not fucking lie. You CANNOT determine flap settings from the video, AND flaps cannot be set at zero in 787, AND flaps at zero would not cause SUDDEN loss of lift, AND incorrect flaps would not make the fucking door fall off

Iโve worked in it with jeets, and this how I think they would have handled the situation.
100 percent pilot error, with nothing really wrong with the plane, perhaps engines lacking full power due to poor maintenance.
Plane most likely was too heavy with underperforming poorly maintained engines
Flaps not deployed properly with landing gear still down.
Jeets panicked and quickly turned one engine off thinking one was faulty as a guessthat was causing the loss of power, rather than thinking flaps and landing gear caused the issue. Nose up out of desperation.
Doesnโt sound logical but that is the mind of the jeet. M2

in the low speed and lift the plane was in. the landing gear is a vital piece of their downfall. the wings do not even bend since they are not generating lift. at that instance it was a vital problem for them. you are just pretending.

Depending on the flap mode on the 787, flaps can be controlled either via electric motor or hydraulics. If there were electrical issues, it would need to be a failure in multiple, separate systems and you would to lose primary power generation and all battery back ups. This is really, really unlikely.

i still cannot fathom them taking off without flaps. cockpit turns into a red rave if that is attempted.
but i think they retracted the flaps after takeoff instead of the gear. you can even see the wings losing their bend as they lose lift. still a major fuckup.
