If I die, I don't have to be alive on this planet anymore. That's a benefit. If I live, I will probably have had a combat experience, wouldn't mind finding out what a gunfight is like or even just having a bomb go off nearby, or maybe I will be witness to a nearby bombing or drone explosion or something. I dunno. I find all of life extremely boring. Would be an interesting experience to tell. Ukraine is not part of NATO or the EU. The main reason Russia attacked Ukraine is because they were going to join the NATO.
It's a war of pilpul and semantics. Russia feels like it can invade a country because they are not part of some union written on a piece of paper. NATO can't fully back and defend Ukraine because that would be seen as a declaration of war on Russia and you'd get the entire Europe versus Russia and it's WW3.

USA turns off their tech and satellites and russia suddenly makes big advances, causing US glownigs to have to turn it all back on on the downlow. I think this guy figured out how to pierce their lines, and now he's got much more sway and power. It feels like Ukraine could still be a Spanish Civil War. Which was a war which got taken advantage off by everyone to train troops, figure out tactics and strategies for all the new aircraft and tanks they had, and update themselves on combat metal now that LMG and SMG were big and new on the scene. Ukraine is functioning like that for Russia. The more the west "bleeds" them, the more learning experience Russian generals get. It goes both ways.
