>>507250147This is oversimplified. The reason people lead boring lives is because they avoid conflict. It's not much more complex than pavlovian conditioning. Go to work>get money for food pellets. Do bad thing>get hurt>no longer do bad thing. The positive feedback loop asserted in this is a simulated carrot on a stick to keep them from accepting the fact that they're a domesticated animal. And the more insidious reason behind this is that people don't care about this fundamentally, they only do this because society TELLS them to be free. So not even the thought of defiance is natural, the social hierarchy does this so that you have the idea that they're not accountable for lack of agency even when the system deliberately promotes it.
