>>507272197Because they tried to turn gaming i. Same way loads of apolitical people become political.
>>507272379What's more common imo is people build an audience, then someone external comes along and pressures/bribes/etc them into pushing an agenda.
I don't really get that so much with Asmongold though. His beliefs don't feel "inorganic" given who he is. Remember he was born after the
>Israel has always been our greatest allystuff was firmly cemented, and history of antagonism from Israel towards the US had been forgotten.
>>507272717Nope, but GDF has a series on the history of the US/Israel relationship and it wasn't really until the 1970s that the US ruling class starts being taken over by the Zionist lobby. Before then the dominant opinion among politicians, the military establishment, relevant corporate lobbies (oil etc) and economists was that it made much more sense to align with the Arabs or to not pick sides at all than it did to align with Israel. The Israel lobby's strategy was to always shift discussions away from political, military and economic interests and towards morality and ideology, tailoring the rhetoric to appeal to the moral sensibilities of whoever they were dealing with at the time.
When dealing with Christians shift the discussion away from political/military/economic and towards the Jews as God's chosen people etc.
When dealing with Leftists shift the discussion away from political/military/economic and towards the Nazis, the Holocaust etc.
When dealing with Liberals shift the discussion away from political/military/economic and towards Israel as an island of democracy etc.
When dealing with Nationalists shift the discussion away from political/military/economic and towards the threat of Islam.
Etc, etc.
In fact this strategy of derailing the political/military/economic into the moral/ideological has been a central theme in organized Jewish politics since forever. You can see it during the Weimar era too.
