It is also notable that this seems to say only 9 "successfully striking their target" as opposed to 141 intercepts. That probably means they are excluding partial intercepts where the missile was diverted or damaged yet still hit something.

They're not less expensive because it's not the Iron Dome that's intercepting, since that one's just for close-range attacks and simpler missiles from closer threats such as Hezbollah, Hamas and so on. These are extremely expensive and less effective anti-air missiles since they have to intercept missiles that travel at a drastically higher velocity than those close-ranged ones that the Iron Dome takes care of.

Not only does Israel not have all that big of a supply to defend, the US can't even produce all that many of them to supply Israel with them. Iran definitely has plenty stocked to deplete Israel's defense.

They don't need to have all the missiles get through they just have to make it financially unsustainable to operate the defensive equipment. This is the fundamental issue with relying on defensive technology, it always costs more to defend against weapons than it does to use them, and often the defensive tech is inadequate throughout most of history.

Zelensky is probably referring to 70 mm hydra rockets with laser pointer guidance. This is the only anti air weapon system that the US can produce in bulk, and they cost about 20 000 per shot, or equal or more than a geran/shaheed drone. They are utter useless for ballistic missile interception and only good against subsonic propeller craft. They can also be used against ground targets if you can put the laser pointer mark on them.
