Capitalism destroyed the nuclear family worldwide. Nepotism is unironically what keeps families together and it’s why the Middle East and Africa had thriving clans and families. Capitalism requires you to move 1000 miles away to get a good job and then your children move away from you, and you all end up atomized and alone so you can be a good little efficient worker unit.

Wrong. You assume your 50 year experiment is somehow the standard and norm, it isnt. You are blind. You decry cApItAliSm but it qas capitalism that created the nuclear family and destroyed the household and traditional family systems.
Used to be 3 generations within a big house with land, but that makes no money in real estate and development, houses are inherited and kids only split if theres too many, creating a new household. No $$$ in that, no gotta make sure houses are 1 generation only and kids leave as soon as they can, that way you need 10x more houses per family. The houses are smaller and everyone is alone, lonely and divided after kids move out, everyones circle is only 2 to 5 people big in a family unit instead of 20+

My best guess on why the family declined is that Americans essentially walked away from civil society and its institutions (Church, School, Clubs, etc) which is MASSIVELY understated.
