Never in human history did Mexicans occupy that territory. Virtually no one lived there, thats why the Mexican government had to make a deal with American ranchers who moved into the area. But then the Mexicans back stabbed the ranchers, and the ranchers sided with the US. The Mexican army got BTFO by some White farmers and a small number of US soldiers.

You're delusional. The Mexican areas above the current borders were not official Mexican states and nothing was built there. Even as late as 1830, San Francisco paintings show its a few houses and maps don't appear to even exist of the "city" because so little was there. Then compare it to 1850, Anglo-Americans had turned it into a decent size city as you can clearly see on maps and the street names; not only built the city but laid out all of the sections for future growth which is todays city.

the Mexican population of California was around 4k or 5k in 1850, the population explusion was all Americans.
the Southwest in general was sparsely population at the time the US took it. a very small percentage of the hispanic population in the US can trace their roots back to the people who lived there at the time of US annexation.

most Mexicans in the US today came in successive waves but the vast majority came in the 1980s and 2000s during the Reagan and Bush administrations. Operation Wetback in the 1950s sent back a lot who had come during the World Wars for labor.
