It's pretty interesting that the numbers almost the exact same. My mother bought a house in 2006 and sold it in 2017 for 16 times the value she bought it for. They did renovate the bathroom but it's absolutely insane how housing costs are going up. I know people who pay 70% of their income in living cost. There are some old houses with cheap costs but they are systematically being broken down to make chinese like quality modern module houses and the ones who remain are desperately being held unto. I live in small town, I can't even imagine how awful it must be bigger cities.
