We wanted to be better than animals, we wanted to be like God. And Jesus makes it clear striving to be like God is not a sin, he tells us to do it.
So what's the lesson?
Trust God's wisdom. If he says it's bad, it's bad.
Think about it. All he gave us access to was fucking morals and look where we are.

Eh… I’ve always had unexplainable ecstatic feelings inside forests since I was a child, impulses to dance around the trees among other feelings, and acid put those preexisting feelings together so I could process something underlying in them.
