China's economy is utterly based on production. It isn't good stock to be a reserve currency. A reserve currency helps consumer nations more than production nations, in fact a strong Yuan would actually destroy their economy as no one would willingly buy Chinese-produced goods if it was the strongest currency on earth.
Their population is sleepwalking into a decline crisis worse than Japan's due to one child policy and Let It Rot. The population is projected to fall by more than half in 20 years or so.
Still utterly energy and food dependent on other nations. They have a fraction of arable land of Europe with the population density of India. A vast, vast, vast majority of their energy still is imported through a tiny strait or with shaky truces with Russia.
Just doesn't add up to me.
