Why are all the conservative faggots who claim nuclear deterrence works suddenly saying Iran getting a nuke would be the end of the world?

To start a nuclear war you wouldn't just need a suicidal leader you'd need a whole suicidal chain of command. And it's more tempting for your general to just shoot you in the head rather than obey orders.

Because no one thinks for themselves anymore. That's what progress means, is having others think for you. Of course MAD works. Of course its impossible to stop Iran from harnessing the atom. Of course Israel would think twice if Iran also had nukes.
Rather than blow up their country to the point we get another Taliban-run-Afghanistan down the line, we should lift Iranian sanctions, help them create safe nuclear energy, disband some of our neighboring bases, and show a genuine goodwill attitude towards keeping lasting peace in the region.
I say give every country nukes. Then either no one will go to war, or WW3 will give us a much-needed humbling.

lnot true, every major power with icbms and nuclear submarines does drills on a regular base to make sure this doesn't happen. there are russian, american and chinese servicemen who already "pushed the famous button" well knowing what will happen. the idea that one cog in the machine suddenly stops the whole process is wishful thinking

Assuming Israel had nukes, if Iran had them too, I think Iran would just nuke Israel as soon as possible. I really think they are that crazy. But neither of those countries are in NATO, so we should be relatively fine. Still the possibility of nuclear war in the middle east kind of sucks. It would be nice if they could wipe out all the Muslims though.

You'd need a lot of generals and politicians signing their own and their families death warrants to make a nuclear war happen. Since these people get to these positions after a long difficult ambitious career they will be more likely to murder the leader and start a coup than kill everyone in their own lives.
