Now that I own a house in the suburbs, I'm fully convinced that besides good school districts and affordability, there’s absolutely no reason anyone like living there. It's fucking boring and everything is 60 mins away. Slave to a house and slave to a damn car to do anything.

Yo man, I'm going through the same thing -- post nut clarity over buying a house in the suburbs. Except everything is still close to me. We're about 10-15 minutes outside of a major city. Don't get any undesirables coming through. It's diverse but everyone minds their business and aren't assholes, keeps their yards looking good. Good school district. The place has everything going for it, my family is happy except I wanna live closer to the ocean so I can kayak fish every day. We've got freshwater lakes and ponds and we've got brackish water rivers but I want to be near the ocean so I don't have to drive almost two hours to get to my favorite ocean spot.
