Although for me, the low point of Brooks was Dracula: Dead and Loving it. The combo of Brooks and Leslie Nielsen should have been a knockout and it just wasn't funny at all. I liked DDLI. But I’m a huge Leslie Nielsen fan. He was a really good serious actor - Forbidden Planet is one of my favorite movies. Then he decided he wanted to do comedy and was even more brilliant with that. He’s got that same deadpan/straight delivery that Gene Wilder does so well, with absolutely perfect timing, and just owns it. I simply can’t imagine anyone doing his roles in Airplane or Police Squad nearly as well.

There’s a great movie from 1971 called Skin Trade with James Garner and Lou Gossett set in the Wild West where they run a con where James “sells” Lou Gossett to people then he runs away and they split the money. If they did it on purpose it's the greatest movie stunt in history. The movie came out 38 years ago. Personally I think that they never intended on a sequel it was popular enough to make one and they didn't. And that was just another one of the many 4th wall jokes in that movie. It was full of them.
