they might not even be in the country.
grass grows a metre high and weeds blowing through the neighbourhood.
this is in a city, not rural.
so yeah, you have to mantain your property
easy enough to hire someone to cut it now and then
you DO NOT have to keep your lawn short or anything
in fact a lot of people keep it long now as it's better for the local biome, insects, birds, etc.
but the yards don't look abandoned.
no one wants to live in an area like you see in the USA with cars on blocks on the front lawn, unkempt, etc.
average detached house in the city of Vancouver is over $2 million USA, fair to expect people will care for their property
