fuck parades, man, i know exactly what they are. I did my mandatory service (in Russia) and was “lucky” enough to take part in one of those events. It’s when sergeants and other privates are drilled for a couple of months, 3-4 days a week, five hours a day, doing stupid marching instead of anything actually useful. Screw that shit, it’s all just empty show, has nothing to do with real life

A bunch of reasons.

First is that US troops have very few ceremonial duties relative to other developed nations.
This stems partially from the USAs relative youth and from the fact that historically the USA has not been terribly fond of its military. The modern worship is purely a post world war 2 thing.
Prior to that public sentiment surrounding the military was more informed by the raping and pillaging of the continental army, the failures of 1812 and and incidents such as the battle of blair mountain.
So the overwhelming majority of US troops have little if any experience in this kind of thing. Theres no institutional or personal experience to rely on.

Second is that the USA is being compared primarily to nations like China, Russia and North Korea.
In the case of Russia they have annual military parades celebrating their victory in WW2. So they have a wealth of personal and institutional experience.
China and North Korea (Russia too to an extent) use military parades as a symbol of strength they're showing off and thus its important to put on a good look.
For China and North Korea theres another consideration. They both are forced to maintain large military forces to fend off potential US attack, but they can't use those troops for much.
Last thing they want is a bunch of heavily armed bored soldiers and officers lounging around as theres only so much preparation and training you can do. So parade drill and regular military parades keep them busy, colonel pingpong spends his spare time organising and planning for the next big parade rather than thinking maybe he should be in charge.

Third is the USAs manpower quality is fairly low. Most of its personnel are barely adequate for their role and so the US military as a whole focuses on minimising the tasks each enlisted soldier is involved with. So the majority of their troops do no formation activities outside of basic.

How to make the next parade better:
1. Make them walk in cadance. Fuck goosestepping casual confident walk is more badass, just make it synchronized
2. Give them guns. Even if just slung on their shoulders it would still look cooler. Maybe even give them helmets, idk
3. Don't allow vehicle crews to wave their hands like retards. It's not a victory parade and nobody here is greeting you

Your first point falls flat on its face and your next two are nothing more than speculation. The O-6+ corps are expected to lead and organize the military in a major conflict and you're telling me they can't even organize a fucking parade? Marching isn't difficult, it just takes a bit of practice and leadership. This is objectively an abject failure by Army leadership. The Army is nothing more than a welfare program. Muhreens aren't too different, but at least they have some discipline and can march properly.
