Why is Gen Z being nostalgic for the 2000s they mostly missed out on seen as a threat? Millenials loved wearing Nirvana shirts and pretending to be '90s kids, nobody linked it to anything political.

What makes 2000s nostalgia any different?

They want to erase any longing or memory for how things used to be, so that people just accept the new ways. Totalitarian regimes do this.

Cause it was a better time
They know we know things were better
They know if it gets more less better people who can remember can compare
So they need them to foger that things can be better
So than can be less better than now

Yes, they want people to believe nothing could ever be better than the regime they are imposing. Imagining something better is threatening, so people have to close down their minds and just accept the new reality.

Millennials WERE kids in the 90's. That's what "millennial" means.

Those who control the past, control the present and the future. Yeah, to defeat fascism, we must destroy any concept of the past (history) and then rewrite it however best suits our needs, then we will have defeated fascism by dictating the narrative to the masses.

Authoritarianism 101.

Acknowledging that things were better in the past is an admission that the current (((betters))) must be removed to improve things. Picrel.

I've read 1984 and that's exactly what they did, they removed the history of the past so that people can't know it was better before, satanic shit

>being nostalgic for the 2000s
People are nostalgic for the time when they were a kid. The aughts were nothing special and no better than now. You just thought it was better because life was still magical to you because you were shielded from real life by your parents.

it was true until the gen z, for the gen z, their favorite decade is the 90's, that's the first time a generation doesn't prefer the time they were kids, that's how bad this current era is

The 2000s were like the 90s except there was a tech boom and we were afraid of terrorist attacks. They weren't really that different from the 90s, but the biggest difference between then and now is that there was no social media. Any time kids saw someone with a camera they were happy to smile and mug for it because it was something novel and a chance to make a memory with your friends and family. Now "going viral" is something people will either sell their soul for or it's a mark of death that will make people flee any time the cellphones come out. Social media is a technology that humans are not ready for and we are not responsible enough to have, and yet all of society changed seemingly overnight to funnel us into it.

>BUT THAT WAS IN THE PAST

This is the ideal of progressiveness, that so long as time goes on, things will always get better. They can't conceive of a time when attitudes were better and healthier in the past.

Name me some music from the aughts that was better. I remember pop music sucking hard dick back then.
>>507607923
The terror scare and the wars are what made the aughts suck. The 90s were a bit better just because of that.

Because line must go up!
Line going up means we're better off today than 20 years ago!
If we don't stop nostalgia, Gen Z will make line go DOWN!
Do you not understand?!?!?!
