Anon, it is all poisoned, and it always has been, in regards to televised media. Specifically, subversive comedy is dangerous because while there are some viewers who are “in on the joke”, i.e. they understand they are watching a satirical performance of any given stereotype or trope, there are just as many(if not scores more) who are just tuning in(haven’t been lurking long enough) or are otherwise oblivious perceive those programs to be in favor of the things that they were meant to be against, and that idea is reinforced in the mind of ignoramuses everywhere by the canned laughter and apparent nonchalant expression of views previously deemed as forbidden.
