He emphasizes that he was fully informed from the outset. He effectively admits that the negotiations were doomed by design -- a pretext to justify the eventual bombing.

None of this was unforeseeable or unexpected. It was very clearly telegraphed, all out in the open, for any rational observer to see -- not just for months, but years. Chalking it up solely to some eternal, inviolable influence of the "Israel Lobby," always cajoling and manipulating Trump into doing things he otherwise didn't want to do, is just the continuation of a failed and desperate effort to displace agency from the President.
