The same as cold fusion and Mars colonies.

It's been here a long time, as soon as it started training on data that no one realized had already been generated by AI that was AGI. The process is larger than the creators. The flywheel is spinning and it will only spin faster. Either learn to code your own agent systems or get run over.

I Largely agree with this, the fact is that LLM are just very good SAI not anything like an AGI. and couple this with a declining IQ and I dont think we'll see it for a very long time.

The point is that cold fusion and Mars colonies were 20 and 30 years away respectively back in the 1970s.

Yep. By 2050 almost all boomers will be dead and gen Xers will start dying en masse. Millennials will also be way past their peak productivity. If I had to bet between accessible AGI (it doesn't mean shit if it needs a fucking supercomputer to run) and a massive competency crisis, I'd bet on the latter.

Do you even bother to read what you type? If IQ goes down that means AGI is easier because the bar has been lowered. AGI means AI is smarter than humans and humans can no longer really tell if something is AI because of that. AGI has already happened across many domains.

If the average IQ goes down by 4-5 points, there's going to be an order of magnitude fewer geniuses.
